Guardian Angels Primary School`s Gifted & Talented Program is designed to enrich & extend children who demonstrate or have the potential to excel in one or more areas across the curriculum.


The Ability Indicators used for the Gifted & Talented Program include:

- Above year level performance.

- Academic records and work samples.

- Observation checklists from teachers and parents.

- External test results.


Various models operate to meet the needs of the Gifted & Talented students. G&T withdrawal classes in years 3-7, independent learning projects, classroom differentiation and on-going support from a Gifted & Talented teacher are all available across the year levels.


Activities include:

- Enrichment Mathematics classes based on the Newton and Dirichlet Series

  1. -Community Problem Solving Program

  2. -Curricula Problem Solving Program

  3. -Enrichment Writing classes

  4. -Creative & Lateral Thinking classes

- Tournament of Minds Competition

  1. -Robotics classes with teams entering the Junior Robocup Competition

  2. -Independent Learning Projects with Web Quests

- Chess Club
